About the lessons

MATEM is a university extension program whose main goal is to improve the teaching of Mathematics at the Costa Rican secondary education level. It consists of coordinating the MA-0125 Elementary Mathematics (Precalculus) and MA-1001 Calculus I course offered by secondary education institutions to their students. Through MATEM, the TEC guides teachers and evaluates students. When students enter any state university, the approved courses will be incorporated into their academic record (depending the major).

Goals

  • Contribute to improve the mathematical background of high school students.
  • Familiarize students with the terminology, instructions and comprehension of mathematics in the Spanish language.
  • Make students achieve a greater capacity for analysis and have more discipline in their study habits.
